Fall 2020 Resort News from Tim

Dear Silver Lakes Friends
The Resort has been quite active over the summer months as it pertains to projects and updates to the facility and amenities. The Silver Clubhouse has been remodeled to include new carpet, painting, window treatments and chairs. Initial reports have been very favorable.
The Diamond Pool has been restored with new coping, tile and acid washed as well. Over fifty pieces of new pool furniture & tennis chairs have been purchased which includes a combination of lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas, side tables and 2 free standing umbrellas which have a diameter of 11’. Four wind screens for the tennis & pickle ball facilities have been installed.
The north perimeter of the S Lakes property line was cleared of 20+ years of exotic plant material. Looking ahead it is anticipated that we will have an annual inspection and cleanup of this piece of property to remain in compliance with the South Florida Water Management Division.
During the course of this past summer we have installed sod throughout the community which has been a challenge as the usual SW Fla summer rains were 11” below normal through August. However we made up the rain short fall in a few short days this past weekend. Additional smaller landscaping projects have been accomplished as well.
We have purchased an afterhours & weekend irrigation emergency phone #. One needs to simply leave a detailed voice mail as to the nature of the irrigation issue and most importantly the specific address where the emergency is occurring. The phone # to call after hours or over the weekend for emergency irrigation purposes only is 239-207-9714.
A drop box has been installed on the exterior wall of the Silver Clubhouse next to the outgoing mail box.
The drop box will serve as the location in which to:
- Drop off the mulch request form and payment. The form can be found on the web site. Mulch orders will be taken from November 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021.
- Drop off the storage yard form and payment(s). Please contact the office a few days prior to arrival so a form and map of your specific location in the storage yard can be placed in your mailbox.
- Drop off payment for either the annual golf membership, 10 play pass or the 9 hole pass. Please allow 1-2 days for the pass or the bag tag to be placed in your mailbox.
All questions on this topic can be addressed via E Mail or phone call to the office as we are making every effort to keep the office visits to a minimum.
We have been advised again this summer by Collier County of missing back flow preventers. As per the County’s directive the SL crew has replaced just under 100 of these devices which must remain on your outdoor hose bibs at all times.
Crawford’s Arbor Division will be on hand later this month for the annual tree work requirements. I have been informed several Queen palms have a disease referred to as Ganoderma which will require both the stump and the tree to be removed. Additional tree trimming on both the golf course and homeowner lots will also be accomplished and invoiced accordingly. In recent weeks I have received requests from homeowners to have additional trees on their respective lots removed. Please contact the office if you would like additional work completed.
